Six years on from Dani Ceballos’ top flight debut with Real Betis
On April 26, 2014, Dani Ceballos made his LaLiga Santander debut with Real Betis in a game against Real Sociedad where the team had already been relegated just minutes before.
Under the leadership of coach Gabriel Humberto Calderon, Ceballos was picked out having stood out in a session with the club’s brightest young talents.
Ceballos almost missed out due to commitments to the regional team for Andalusia but made it back in time and provided two assists and scored in the practice match.
Wearing the No.46 and with his name missing the final letter, reading ‘Ceballo’, he replaced Lolo Reyes to play the final 10 minutes in a 1-0 defeat at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
Relegation followed and Ceballos made himself a regular, establishing himself in the top tier after the club gained promotion and eventually earning a move to Real Madrid.
