Aperribay: I cried because this final is the effort of many people, it is a dream
Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has confessed that he couldn’t fight back his tears after La Real’s 1-0 win at Mirandes, which secured a 3-1 triumph on aggregate.
The 53-year-old celebrated his side reaching the Copa del Rey final for the first time in 32 years.
«I cried at the end because this final is the effort of many people, it is a dream,» Aperribay said after the match.
«Last year [Real Sociedad women’s team] won the Copa de la Reina.
«This year let’s see if the boys will have the same luck.
«We have to enjoy this moment and take advantage of it.
«We have to go to Seville with force and see if we can win.»
Aperribay went to the dressing room to congratulate the players after their victory.
«I came down to thank each player and all the members of the coaching staff,» he added.
«This is the effort of many people, to make it to this final 32 years [after the last].
«We have 35,000 members and the fans couldn’t have responded better.
«I am very excited to play this final.
«This is a dream for all of our fans.»
